How to Backup your Blog

Digg this

BackupMyBlog is the first in a series of specialized remote backup solutions. BackupMyBlog will automatically back up blogs daily. They have PHP and MySql based blog backup solution. At this time they are running a free beta but it sounds like it will be a paid service. It backs up at a certain interval (daily, weekly or monthly), much like a Cron job, and saves the backup files to their server. This is useful if you often forget to back up your blog, or if you can’t use Cron jobs.

Setting up your blog for back-up is a simple matter of typing in your FTP details, and then your blog’s URL. It then automatically detects your database’s settings. After it has backed up, it will save it to their server, and optionally email you. You can also restore a backup from within BackupMyBlog.
