Google Reader is indeed the best Feed Reading service of all those that I have used online. I love its ajax interface, its stylish look, ability to share, star and tag feeds and other cool features. The best thing is that it is powered by Google. Until now it was an online service but thanks to the birth of Google Gears, Google Reader can now also be used offline.
How To Read Feeds Offline in Google Reader?
Google Gears is an open source browser extension that enables web applications to provide offline functionality. Google Reader Team has taken good use of Google Gears to make the great online feed reading service available for offline use too. Here is how you can make Google Reader available offline by just following a couple of steps.
1.Install Google Gears and restart your browser.
2.Open Google Reader and click on the green online icon next to the Settings link in the upper right of the page to download the most recent articles.
3.Once the synchronization is complete you can safely disconnect to read your feeds offline.
When you go offline, the status icon will change to to indicate that you’re offline. When you’re back online, simply click the icon to enable all the online features again and synchronize any changes with the online version.
