Show multiple clocks in Vista

Digg this

In a previous installment of this blog I introduced you to Windows XP’s Microsoft Time Zone Utility.
This utility is quite handy as it allows you to display the current time in different locations that you select.

Windows Vista incorporated some of the Time Zone utility functionality and made it available from out-of-the-box.

You can now display two additional clocks, besides your system time. The clocks are visible when mousing over the right hand side of your task bar.

I really like this new feature, as i work with folks from Bangalore and also from San Francisco, and i often struggle to deduce whether it’s a good time to call or IM them :)

Here’s how you can implement this feature:

  • Click Start, click Control Panel and then Clock, Language and Region.
  • In the Date and Time section click Add clocks for different time zones.
  • Navigate to the Additional Clocks tab.
  • Configure the two additional clocks you would like to display.

  • Click Apply and then OK
  • Now, mouse over your system time in the taks bar. You’ll see the two additional clocks you added.
