As expected Yahoo has launched its own social networking utility Yahoo Mash, a perfect Web 2.0 example. After the success of other social utilities like Orkut and Facebook, rumors had it that yahoo was coming with 
something like that, though the web enthusiast denied on the credibility of the news.
Invite only usage has been a recent trend in the web era. This invitation only usage not only helps companies to test their product keeping the resource usage minimum, but also they play with human nature of running behind everything which is not available easily. On get invited, people feel special and so they just run after an invitation. Let us come back to Yahoo Mash, it has all those features that yo have always wanted in a social networking site. Completely ajaxified user interface gives it an edge over orkut especially.
