An IP address is a unique address that certain electronic devices currently use in order to identify and communicate with each other. By using your IP address when browsing and ordering things online, you are not anonyomous. With a court order, government officials could subpoena your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and find your physical address to your house all because your IP address is out in the blue. Let me explain some ways you can remain anonymous.
Free Proxy Browsing Sites -There are several sites out there that will act as your proxy. This especially comes in handy when your work or school might block certain sites like MySpace or Facebook. By using a proxy browsing site, you can surfer anonymous without worries that your IP address will be shown to others. I compiled a list of some sites that work like this. Try it out for yourself! When visiting one of these sites, just enter the URL you want to visit and start browisng anonymous PogoProxy,Studentprox,Unpassed.com ,Monkeyprox,Hidemyass.com ,Myspaceproxy.com,CanHide ,Proxy Browsing ,Rapidcloak ,Unblockmyspace , Proxyex.com
You can test to see and test that your IP address changes, by visiting Anonymousphone.net/ip first normally, then entering the URL on one of the listed above proxy sites. There are thousands more of these out there. If you find any you really like, feel free to let us know and we will add them to the list.
Open Proxies- This is still easy but requires a little more work in finding open proxies. In most cases, using an open proxy that is laying around is not illegal. A proxy server is a computer network service that allows you to basically bounce through their IP adress and then connect to a website or service. There are many open proxies but often are hard to find working ones out of the bunch. A list we will recommend is Proxy4free.com but you may want to search around for other sites. To use a proxy, you will need to change your Internet options and insert the proxy server. In Internet Explorer 7.0, just goto the Tools on the menu bar, click Internet Options -> Connections -> Lan settings -> Click Use a proxy server and insert the IP address & port. Then try visiting our IP locator page at Anonymousphone.net/ip/ and see if your IP address changed.
